Get out of my school supplies, Crazy Gary Oldman!

I officially win at everything.

I am currently listening to t.A.T.u. and dancing around my room in naught but my underwear. LEOPARD PRINT UNDERWEAR. Don't tell me you aren't jealous of my life.

I also spent the evening drinking wine and watching Black Books. It was fantastic. God, I wish I could say that in Bernard Black's voice.

I love Harry Potter midnight events! I was originally fairly upset that I couldn't see it with my original midnight HP crew and then super upset that I was so hopped up on vicodin* that I actually slept through most of it, but it's amazing how much better you can feel after complaining about everything to your boyfriend. Hope he can handle it and isn't secretly dying inside. On the plus side, when I go to see the movie again there will be NEW stuff, so my excitement to see it does not yet have to wither and die. Also, I was awake when Seamus exploded himself in potions, which is the sort of thing I live for.

*I had my wisdom teeth extracted this afternoon. I know; it was far from perfect timing. The oral surgeon seemed like kind of a dick, but the procedure went well and they sent me home with drugs-so who's to complain? I'm also strangely excited to subsist on mashed potatoes and simple soups for a couple days. I'm sure that enthusiasm will change as soon as I see a roommate eating real food or catch a glimpse of the leftover pumpkin pasties in the fridge, but alas! So it goes.

Also, I'm making my glorious return to the 'dale on Monday, so there should be much rejoicing.

A few things.

1. I got an acceptance email so I AM GOING TO RUSSIA NEXT SEMESTER WHOOOO!

2. I don't really know how to go about this, so I'm just going to come out and say it.

I like World of Warcraft.

Are you happy, world? I know I've made fun of it before. Relentlessly. I know I thought it was stupid and that everyone playing it had to be crazy to at least some degree. But it's fun. So okay. I'm embarrassed now.

3. I don't want to wake up at 9 am on SATURDAY to go get brunch with my grandparents rarrrrrr

I miss blogging.

No time like during my political science lecture to start up again, eh? Our topic today is “Judicial Reform in the Soviet Union,” so to say that it’s uninteresting would be quite the understatement. I’m struggling more and more to learn in this class; the first half of the semester took on a more direct historical basis that I actually cared about, but now we’re getting really deep into the heavy political stuff that is very difficult for me to follow. It’s also hard to bring myself to devote any real time to studying the material after I sacrificed god knows how much time to write that sixteen page research paper (Russian language resources are not exactly user friendly as far as an American student is concerned).

About a month ago (after hours of toiling to complete the nearly-endless list of application requirements), I finally submitted my application to study abroad in Saint Petersburg. I still haven’t heard back about acceptance, and it’s starting to really bother me. I got an email today that told me not to worry; they’re working hard to get through all the applications and I should hear back by May 5th. But I want to know nowwwww. *whines* I have to hang around for a few hours after class today to take a qualifying exam for it, also. I’m getting so impatient! I want them to accept me so I can stop worrying! I can’t imagine what I would do if I don’t get to go-there’s only so much sitting around my computer, Flickr world-exploring, and wishing to go somewhere that I can handle. I want to go on a grand adventure abroad! Rarrr!

I should probably pay some real attention to lecture now.

We still have 20 minutes left.

Balls.

I am currently taking a course that centers around Russian life and culture through 1917. In addition to the normal requirements for said class, since I am a Russian major, I have to write a 10-15 page research paper about some aspect of Russian culture during the time period in question.

I am writing it about music during the Romantic period.

Because I really *needed* an excuse to sit around and listen to Tchaikovsky all day...

I am a genius.

So happy.

Hello, world! I am so awesome that I am writing in my LiveJournal. Sarah thinks it is very funny, and a super-amazing post! She feels very special to make a special guest appearance here, in my LiveJournal. LiveJournal LiveJournal Livejournal. Right now we are "watching" a movie, by which I mean Hannah and Paddy are watching a movie, and I am watching bits and pieces of the movie and don't actually know what is happening.

This weekend we will have a pajama party, and it will be incredibly fun! Of course, it is always fun when I am involved.

"What the hell are you doing??" says Sarah to Arizona.

I dyed my hair purple the other day, huzzah! It is very pretty, and will be even prettier when I fix it and make it even purple-er.

Paddy's mom is a sandwich, which makes Paddy half-sandwich.

"Stop spreading lies about my mom and me," says Paddy.

"What is it from? What is it from?" says Arizona, poking Sarah.

"It's from Kate and I being awesome, and Paddy being half-sandwich," wisely responds Sarah.

"Make sure it is known that I am awesome, and amazing," says Arizona.

"An Amazing," says Sarah.

The main purpose of this post was to prove that Paddy has more LJ friends than just John C. Wright, and I think that mission has been accomplished. Also, none of you will probably have any clue what I am talking about. Thus, I shall depart. Farewell, my friends.

Packing sucks. Especially for a procrastinator. Especially when said procrastinator's flight leaves at 6:20 in the am. I'll probably finish packing around 4, which is alright since that's usually about the time I go to sleep regardless of packing duties...but instead of getting to go to sleep (I love you, sleep) I get to go to the airport.

Rarraghreagh.

That is all. Later, Phoenix.

Hello! I have not posted in a while. Probably because summer has been a bit on the boring side and there's not that much to share.

I have spent my past few days watching Doctor Who. So much Doctor Who. I'm running out of Doctor Who to watch, though, so I don't know what to do with the rest of my time. I suppose I should pack, but that is a rather great amount of boring compared to Doctor Who. I might go into Doctor Who withdrawal. How many times can I say "Doctor Who" in one paragraph? Doctor Who Doctor Who Doctor Who.

I finally scheduled an appointment to talk to someone at the Apple store about my iPod, but their so-called "iPod genius" was actually not much help. Still sans-iPod. Drove all the way to the Biltmore for nothing. My mom is thinking about giving me her iPod, on account of she doesn't use it often and it used to be mine in some magical part of the past. That would be quite nice.

My dad woke me up at 7:15 this morning; it was painful. Church should maybe not be so early during the summer. I should maybe not agree to play music and show up an hour early to rehearse.

After church I went to Trader Joe's and got all sorts of tasty foods. Yummm. Then home for football/soccer! I was actually quite happy that Spain won. I am now officially a fan of Fernando Torres. He plays football/soccer. He has a Lord of the Rings tattoo. Clearly, he must be awesome.

Later in the afternoon we went to see WALL-E!! Yayyy!

I have to say goodbye to my guitar tomorrow; I am quite sad. My grandparents are driving through on their way back to Wisconsin, and it seems like the only way to get it up there. It's a sacrifice I have to make to have my guitar for the whole year, I suppose. But what am I supposed to do for the rest of the summer?

1. Italy lost their quarterfinal against Spain today :( It was scoreless the whole game and through overtime and then went into PKs, which was so nerve wracking. Silly azzurri. At least I still have Russia.

2. The 2010 FIFA World Cup is in South Africa. Who's coming with me?

3. I went to see Get Smart with my family today. It was actually pretty funny and Masi Oka was as awesome as Masi Oka always is. The Cine Capri has a brand new fancy-pants projector though, so in addition to being the biggest screen and the most powerful sound system in Arizona the picture is really good looking. It's...pretty awesome.

Things have been a little less interesting around here since Arizona left. I've been keeping myself busy though; reading, playing music, watching movies with my dad (we had a Tarantino marathon yesterday, it was pretty awesome). And soccer! Russia won today so they're in the semifinals. Oooraah!

I think I still have a bit of a Mass Effect problem. I slowed down playing my third time through, but now my dad is playing so I'm kind of backseat Mass Effecting. Hmmm.

I've also gotten some things accomplished as of late. I finally took my computer to the apple store to see if I could do anything other than spend $100+ for a new battery. Apparently you need an appointment just to talk to someone there though, so I had to go back after I went in the first time. Pain in the ass. I got my battery replaced for free though, which was pretty sweet.

I even uploaded pictures from Arizona's trip to Facebook. I am proud of myself.

Arizona, being the more sensible of the two of us, is already asleep. Tomorrow we depart in search of larger adventures! We'll be leaving what could be described as obscenely early for a two day journey to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and whatever other spectacles we encounter along the way. Huzzah!

So far it would seem that we have been trying to pack an entire summer's worth of fun into a single week; we've decided to partake in all sort of entertainments. After I retrieved my Arizo' from the airport on Thursday, we went out for a tasty lunch. I took her to YC's, as it is both hell of tasty and an Arizona (the state) exclusive. Then we ventured to Fashion Square. Arizona has never experienced the joys of the Build a Bear Workshop, so we built bears (well, Arizona built a bear. I, being extremely awesome, built a triceratops) and dressed them in the most fashionable attire. We then journeyed into the heart of tourist Scottsdale, where we discovered many many things with Arizona's name on them. We ate some tasty birthday cake and played Rock Band, and then went to the Railroad park and rode the train. Yay!

Today we went on an epic quest which took us to Gameworks. They had a very awesome deal that involved a nice lunch and 3 hours of unlimited games for $15 and we enjoyed it very much. We came back for a heated Mario Kart match before heading to the Ice Den for some skating and the Sugar Bowl for some delicious ice cream. All in all, it has been a very entertaining couple of days.

As for now, sleeping would be a very good idea. G'night loves. :)

Oh, Mr. Wilson has betrayed me! I hid his medicine for the morning in a piece of peanut butter toast because I know he will eat that, but he carried it away and dropped it peanut butter side down on the floor. :(
Silly little chupie.

In other news, I am leaving in just a few minutes to go get Arizona at the airport! I am so excited! I have been missing everyone from Madison very very much recently, so I am so glad that she is coming. Hooray for Arizona!
